Women of Size
It is my goal to create a safe and
supportive enviornment for women of size. Often, there is pressure from
family, doctors, friends, therapists and society to change. What does
this say? Does this say that you're not okay as you are right now? That
you won't be normal or acceptable until you hit a certain number on the
scales? This is not the belief that I hold. I believe in wellness, strength and
health at any size. I have created an ongoing
group on Saturday morning that deals with the issues of being larger in
a society that covets a certain size. I believe that health comes in
all shapes and sizes. Though there is a cognitive behavioral group to
help with binge eating, this group only deals with
the feelings that come up around being in ones body. My goal is to
allow you and encourage you to love your body, regardless of the
messages that you might get from the outside to change. I also want to
give a space to talk about challenges that might occur out in the world
due to your size or shape. I have created a space for women who
deal with similar issues on a daily basis to support one another.
Groups are Saturday morning from 12pm-1:30pm.
Groups
are $50 per session.
